Relaxed bohemian lace dress with low back.

Katie brought out all of my girliness at our fittings together, I was always so excited for her visits.
With every meeting, there was a new cute detail of her wedding day that had been dreamt up from personalised initials and dates, to a message inserted in the linings.
As a model, Katie was well practiced in trying on different styles of dress, and knew exactly what she wanted from her own wedding dress.
The first thing to do was to put Katie’s fiance off the scent … so I made a false design for Katie to leave laying around the house - an awful sketch of a bias dress, with  a white velvet jacket with feather collar and cuffs. Could James stand by knowing Katie’s dress would be a mess, or would he respect her ‘design ideas’, no matter how awful!?
Of course, you can see Katie’s dress was nothing like as described above!
Katie wanted a lace dress with a very low back, with a fitted bodice and hip band to show off her figure, with a very soft and flowing skirt.
Katie wasn’t very keen on floral lace, so by tooth and nail, I found a lace which featured only pretty leaves, but we later decided to add in some daisies, cut from two different laces, and embroidered organically over the dress which broke up the pattern of the leaves.
A deep lace frill at the hem added a cute romantic and whimsical feel, perfect for her Cornish clifftop surroundings!
The dress was personalised both inside and out, having 'Katie and James’ embroidered to the sleeves, and inside 'Mr and Mrs Fox’ - Katie and James nicknames for each other!
You may notice that the last image in this set, the sleeves have changed! All through, we just couldn’t decide which would be best! So we chose both, a quick pull of a thread, and a snap of a  … .erm, snapper!
I do hope that James, and Katie’s two little doggies were pleased! (Frank the Dacshund was particularly hard to win over!)
