After your initial consultation is made and design agreed, a 50% (non-refundable) deposit is required to secure my services.
I can become very busy, and while I don’t like to rush a decision, I can become booked up quite quickly during certain months.Sketches provided are based on our conversations at initial consultations, and are sent via email for discussion and approval. Providing a new set of sketches is charged at a rate of £50.
While it is natural to use photo's from other designers to communicate and demonstrate style and fit, I can in no circumstances be asked to copy exactly the work of another designer - It's illegal.
Your order may be cancelled at the first fitting at the toile stage without financial penalty, although the deposit remain non-refundable.
If the order is not cancelled at this stage the remaining balance becomes due for payment in full (as my time will have been reserved for you, and no other bookings will be made for this time period). An invoice will be sent before the wedding date, and must be paid within 14 days or before collection of the dress.
Work will cease if payment is not made, possibly resulting in a delay in completion of the dress.
If payment is late, work will resume only once payment has been made, and must fit around the current schedule. The dress of another client will not be jeopardized due to the circumstance of another.
Unpaid orders remain the property of Wilden Bride London, and may be sold if not paid for within 30 days of the deadline date to re-coup costs. Court action may also be taken to receive the final balance.
The client must pay the full amount and has no rights to off-set any amount, make deductions or withholdings.
A dress will often take 6 months or more to create. A dress can be created within a shorter time-frame, but this means that every effort must be made to attend scheduled appointments to ensure that the dress is given the time it deserves.
I prefer that deadlines are as close to the wedding date as possible to ensure the best possible fit.
I do not charge extra for rush orders unless there are extra costs for express delivery of fabrics, or if I am required to employ an extra person to ensure the completion of your dress.
I can never jeopardise a previously booked commission in place of a rush order.
Fittings take time to prepare for before a client arrives, fittings are not charged for, but short notice cancellations and arriving late may be charged for.
Late arrivals may affect the time and attention given to your fitting.
Out of hours and weekend appointments are chargeable due to demand at a cost of £20 per appointment, weekdays are much more flexible and are free of charge.
Please strive to make all of your scheduled fittings, especially closer to the finish of your dress. Cancelled and delayed fittings may cause the pick-up date of your dress to be delayed as a result.
Rescheduled appointments, due to cancellation, cannot be guaranteed to suit your preferred date and time.
It is unadvisable to request to make alterations to design, fit and finish when not present as I cannot guarantee the final outcome, and take no responsibility for this.
Exact colours and shades on fabrics and designs on trim, including lace, cannot always be guaranteed.
During fittings, shoes and underwear must be the ones intended for the wedding day to ensure the best possible fit and finish.
Shoes should be purchased and brought to fittings before the cutting of the final fabrics to most accurately measure and finalise the finished hem length.
Underwear should be purchased at the earliest opportunity before cutting of the final fabrics, the type of underwear needed can be discussed at your consultation but ultimately you need to let me know what underwear you feel most comfortable in so I can build the dress around it.
I will recommend the amount of alterations to gowns, this mostly depends on the style of the gown.
If the client insists on a fit tighter than recommended, I cannot be responsible for the finished fit of a garment.
If a weight increase/decrease occurs, especially during the final stages of your gowns creation, certain parts may have to be re-made or altered at my disgression, which may be charged for time and materials.
Please note that weight gain or loss may affect the final design of the dress.Equally, I accept no responsibility for gowns not fitting due to clients increase or decrease in weight or any other reason beyond my control after collection. You can, of course, come back for an extra alteration if needed. Costs may apply.
Fit cannot be guaranteed if fittings are not attended.
Alterations made too your dress by a person or seamstress not under my instruction void my responsibility to the fit and finishing of the dress.
It is the customers responsibility to raise any questions about the fit, style, design and finish of the dress during fittings and before collection. Contesting these elements after collection of the dress will not be accepted.
In the event of a wedding being cancelled for any reason, the balance becomes payable immediately and all goods must be collected.
If for any other reason the wedding date or deadline of your order changes, while I will strive to accommodate your request, I can under no circumstances jeopardise my work for other brides who I have already scheduled.
I am not responsible for fabric price increases after a quote has been made. However I will give you notice of price increases before ordering fabrics for you.
I will recommend the most suited fabrics for the design - those which I work with regularly and which I know and trust to create your design. Alternatively, I can use fabrics provided by yourself, or source fabrics that you specifically request, but I cannot take responsibility for the suitability of these fabrics for your design.
I use techniques and finishes as I see fit, relevant to your design. If you would like to request a particular technique or finish - please ask and I will advise suitability according to my own knowledge.
Dramatic design changes during toile stages and at final stages may incur further costs.
While Photographs are permitted during fittings, please be aware that the settings of my workshop are not conducive to portrait photography owing to the small space and top lighting. For this reason, please make your judgements based on what you see in the mirror, and not what you see in a phone snap.
Similarly, I rarely take/provide photo’s of dresses that are unfinished for approval for the reasons listed above.
The remaining balance on your dress is payable on collection of the dress. No dress can be collected without full payment.
If you are unable to collect your dress in person, you may book a courier service to collect and deliver. I cannot be responsible for the safety of the gown once it has left my possession.
Please inspect the dress before collection, I cannot be responsible for damage to the dress after it had left my possession.
While I do offer home visits for fittings in special circumstances, I can be not responsible for the dress once taken from my premises. The weather and public transport being large and unpredictable factors, as well as the delicate making stages. It is for these reasons that I prefer not to take the dress from my premises before completion.
Please note that my working hours are 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday. I do sometimes accept evening and weekend appointments. Please ask for availability in advance.
Please behave appropriately when attending fittings, I have many sharp objects used for dressmaking, I would hate for injury to occur.
Please notify me of the guests you may bring with you to your consultations and fittings. It’s never a problem to bring guests, I might just want to make sure I’ve got enough biscuits!
Please make sure that you have read and understood all of the terms and conditions, feel free to ask me if you have any queries.
