Delicately detailed silver blue wedding dress
One of the best things is making a dress for a friend!
Sabrina never wanted a traditional dress, but wanted to add a bit of cool to the prettiness, which is why we thought to add spikes to the shoulders, I was really lucky to find some beautiful glass and ceramic ones in the right shades of silver blue and soft green.
The original design had always been fixed in both of our minds with very few changes along the way. The ceremony dress was to be fitted in the bodice, with a low cut illusion neckline, and plunging back neckline. The skirt, also fitted on the hip and bottom, and flaring out into chiffon layers and train. The bodice and hips were layered with the blue silk with a vintage mesh which had Swarovski beads embroidered to it, this was further layered with two different designs of silver lace which were cut out and re-embroidered and then scattered with blue and grey shades of Swarovski beads and crystals. The belt was based on a midnight blue velvet ribbon, overlaid with a silver motif and Swarovski crystals.
For the Israeli Dancing, we decided it would be safest to create a different skirt to change into for more ease of movement, and less risk of falling over!
I suggested a circular skirt, which Sabrina was unsure of at first, but I insisted sheβd look amazing (and I think we can agree that she did! - last picture). We cut in a split at the front, and embroidered laser cut ivy leaves to the hem to give more texture, and I made a different belt which was the same midnight blue velvet, but studded with metal spikes all the way around.
Sabrina was the perfect bride! That is all!
