Pretty Pink Petal Wedding dress
I love that I'm getting a reputation for non-traditional wedding dresses!! All of my brides are awesome and totally unique from one another, which keeps me so happy and fulfilled working on such amazing projects!
Andrea is super girly, and had so many amazing ideas that we often ended up getting mega excited at our meetings over the possibilities and details we could add to the dress.
The design started with an idea for pink, and petals based on a dress that I had designed for Jac previously which Andrea had loved. (See it here). Our version ended up being an ombre of chiffon petals in palest pinks and peach tones on white chiffon, with a sheer blush chiffon lining for a hint of colour seeping though. The skirt was cut in a circular design with extra fabric at the back, a thigh split at the front and long train and with hand cut and stitched petals at the hem to make some amazing 'flowing in the breeze' moments. The split was edged with lace on the lining layer, and the front waist of the skirt pleated with kinda diagonal gathers.
The bodice was made in pale pink chiffon (stiffened for structure), covered in white Chantilly lace, and fine white tulle gathered in a cross-over design on top of the lace so that it became a very subtle detail.
The neckline has a deep sweetheart shape, which follows into delicate off-shoulder lace capped sleeves, and a low back neckline. The whole neckline is covered in pretty texture from Chantilly lace flowers, pearls and Swarovski crystals, ostrich feather strands, stripped coque feathers, and chiffon petals (applied upside down so that they don't just flop and lay flat). I also made some silk flowers with my lovely new heated petal press in shades of pink and peach which were places mostly at the neckline, but a few at the waist also.
I made a simple white tulle veil, and a fine hair wreath from pink pepper berries and gold beaded leaves.
There's also a surprise light-up dancing dress!! (head over to Instagram for that one!!)
Making for Andrea was the absolute best!!! I hope you enjoy!

Andrea is very lucky that her parents have a home on The Isle of Wight, and married at Appuldurcombe House on the island.
