An Iconic Christmas, sparkling Silver Dress for Katie Julia
Bride to be Katie Julia, renowned Photographer and Artist, asked Wilden London to create a dress for her Iconic Christmas dinner at the Franklin Hotel in Kensington, London.
As a creative Mentor , I was able to think about who is Katie to me.
Like most, I have Wicked fever right now and am loving all of the βgood witchβ red carpet fashion, playful and lighthearted.
I realised that Katie is our kind enchantress Glinda, with a magical sense of creative direction, finding the positives in all we do, and scattering us with ideas to raise us and defy what we thought we were capable of in our creative work.
The dress is made in the finest sheer Chantilly lace woven with glistening silver threads and embellished with beaded and sparking motifs. With under layers of glittering tulle and metallic organza.
The skirts made in a rustling silver Lurex silk dupion, overlaid with a textured silver chiffon to subtilize the overall effect.
Katie loved the swoosh and the sweep that the fabric creates, so we added a vintage crystal brooch to the train so it could be swept up and pinned in place for an alternate chic skirt shape.
