Textured Halterneck dress for Ibiza Beach Wedding

Lauren’s dress was lots of fun to make, with it’s bold textured skirt, and tiny pearl beaded details.
Beach-style wedding dresses can be quite ‘typical’, but Lauren really thought outside the box for her Ibiza wedding.
The high-neck halter bodice is layered with a fine guipure lace, plunging to a backless style with fine fine silk straps embroidered with tiny clustered seed pearls. At the front neckline, I applied Swarovski crystal shells in clear and yellow, which are usually intended as ornamental pieces, but when you make your own dresses, you can do whatever you like as long as it looks right and does the job! As you can see, there was a slight yellow theme, owing to the yellow stoned engagement ring that Phil chose to give to Lauren.
nestled amongst the crystal shells, I wove polished coral twigs, and seed pearls which created a bold but delicate necklace effect.

The ‘waistline’ of the dress sat on the hips, asymmetric from top hip to lower hip, accentuated by the kind of organza frills (well, not quite frills), in shades of gold and ivory. The skirt had a very slight train for bridal effect, and a high thigh split to give some freedom from the heat of the sun,
