Thread Embroidery

In shades of white and ivory and neutral tones, thread embroidery on chiffon or tulle creates a feminine and whimsical effect, sometimes accented with subtle sequins and beads.

Colourful thread embroidery gives a rich depth to the embroidery - especially floral embroideries. A realistic representation of flowers can be achieved with silk shading, or equally a style that is geometric, modern or folkloric.

Beaded Embroidery

Beaded embroidery brings a different dimension to the surface design, often creating a sparkling and light-catching effect.
Beads and sequins could map out defined shapes and motifs, or in organic scatterings to add direction and movement. Bead embroidery could also follow and enhance a background fabric such as lace or a printed fabric, or it could be a completely bespoke embroidery artwork.

I love to look at lace beyond it’s fabric form. Lace motifs are cut and appliqued into new formations. Transforming a traditional style lace into a modern and chic design, or equally, combining several different styles of lace together to enhance the floral shapes and creating your own lace fabric in a couture way.
