Rococo Detailed Romantic Wedding Dress with fun Argentine evening dress
A beautiful and romantic white silk wedding dress for creative film director Lucrecia Taormina. The details of this wedding dress were meticulously designed and executed, from the fabrics and lace chosen and the shapes on the body, as for every Wilden bride.
The wedding dress has many unique details.
The waist of the wedding dress extends into a Basque shape, from which a pointed peplum is attached in silk satin organza, and embroidered with scalloped lace edging, and small and delicate details. The peplum was trialed in different versions - fuller, longer, but ultimately tailored to suit the proportions of the bride.
Sister-in-law Nieve Tierney conducted an energy ceremony over the dress and prepared magnetic crystals which were stitched into the dress over the heart, ready to meet her groom at the aisle.
The lace embroidery on this wedding dress touches almost every edge, composed of several delicate chantilly lace designs, picking out the shapes that fit the rRococo brief. Leafy, and swirling scrolls. Not too floral, and not too fussy.
The veil attaches in a double layer under the chignon. Though its a double layer, it is not designed to be worn over the face, instead the lace in embroidered to add interest and decoration around the shoulder line.
Knowing that Lucrecia wanted a dramatic and romantic entrance, we cut the veil very long, and embroidered with a scroll style lace, and cut away the lace eyelashes instead preferring a definite edge of the angular shapes of the lace design.
The shoulders are cut away into half-moon shapes, and is also backless, meaning that the sleeves appear to be floating on the body, attached only by a delicate silk strap embroidered with lace.
The Bride and Groom learned an Argentine Tango native to Lucrecia, and wanted a second wedding dress for the evening party to suit.
We made two skirt options - a circular skirt that skimmed the body, but flowed and swirled.
On the day, Lucrecia chose the long pencil skirt with a high thigh-split - totally suiting the look of the latin dance.
The corset top featured a scoop neck and shoulder straps, and a pointed Basque waist made in textured silk duping.
The bodice of the evening wedding dress was thoughtfully designed and embroidered with motifs from Argentina including the Argentine sun with itβs 16 rays of light, and native trees, Madagascan orchids, and Irish and Croatian folklore of Vila with long flowing hair, living upon carpets of violet flowers, kelpies and rainbows, as well as a true story of two Stork girls in love who migrated across the world to see each other year after year. The embroidery was completed in sparkling glass beads in a colour to match the fabric, subtle, but light catching.
