Sparkling White Bead and Feather Wedding Gown

As an interior designer, Katie wanted fabrics and texture to be a key part of her wedding dress.

Katie chose to have a bespoke wedding dress designed because she couldn’t find something that fulfilled her brief. And, I suspect her brief was still in progress too, and initial ideas of bold lace eventually changed into beads and feathers.

Always high on the list for Katie’s custom wedding dress were bold puff sleeves, which I love, they give a great shape and frame to the body and are finished with deep cuff hem.
The benefit to going for a bespoke wedding dress design, is that ordinarily this fabric is not suitble for this type of sleeve, but with expert knowledge, the correct interlinings and fittings allow anything and everything to be possible.

A v-neck, and a cinched waist show off Katies figure perfectly, and the skirt skims the hips. The hem has slight flare, enhanced by the texture of the feathers, which were all hand trimmed and curled individually.

Katies was a bride getting married in London, at Old Court House Hotel, and having lived in and around London her whole live there needed to be a spirit of London about her wedding dress too. Not only that, as a jewish bride, the ceremony involves circling your partner, so Katie was wary about having a dress that would hinder her movement.

The hem was chopped into a hi-lo length with the front of the dress cut to above the ankle, and I did convince Katie to have a small train, as is really adds the drama of a sweeping wedding dress. I promised, that there would be multiple loops hidden within the train so that it can be easily picked up for dancing.

The wedding florals are by Amber Rose Flowers and are just mind blowing.
